For the past few years, the Association for the Assistance of People with Intellectual Disabilities 'Latice' has been participating in the Komunalca project, which aims to highlight the importance of reusing objects, and which aims to reduce the amount of waste, especially that which would otherwise end up in landfills. It involves painting glass lanterns that citizens at the Koprivnica cemetery deposit in containers for waste glass, and which members of the Association Latice have painted and given 'new life' to, that is, which will be reused at the cemetery on the eve of All Saints' Day.
Members of the association and employees of the Koprivnica Komunalac Cemetery Sector gathered in the premises of Latica and painted lanterns together, and then took them to the Pri Sv. Duhu City Cemetery where they laid them next to the cross on the children's field. In this way, the lanterns will decorate that part of the cemetery, and will also be a reminder that reusing extends the life of everyday objects and reduces the amount of waste we create.
