Nevenka Fuchs elected as a member of the Social Council of the City of Koprivnica

The president of the Association for Assistance to People with Intellectual Disabilities Latice, Nevenka Fuchs, was elected to the Social Council of the City of Koprivnica on Tuesday, June 24th.

Based on the Decision on the Appointment of the President and Members adopted by the Mayor of Koprivnica Mišel Jakšić, Nevenka Fuchs will be the representative of citizens' associations in the field of health and social welfare. In addition to the president of the Association for Assistance to Persons with Intellectual Disabilities Latice, Merima Remenar, representative of the Croatian Institute for Social Work, Koprivnica Regional Office, Maja Petak, representative of the Croatian Employment Service, Koprivnica Branch, and Adela Sočev, representative of the Koprivnica City Red Cross Society, were elected as members. Ksenija Kraljic Babić was elected as the president of the council on behalf of the City of Koprivnica. The president and members of the Council were appointed for a four-year term.

During his term of office, he will address responsible strategies such as:

  • participation in creating the social policy of the City of Koprivnica in accordance with the legal regulations of the Republic of Croatia
  • initiating the adoption of appropriate regulations and solving individual issues in the field of social welfare in the local community
  • adoption of proposals for approval of certain assistance to single individuals and households to cover the costs of basic living needs, as well as assistance to provide support in independently meeting basic living needs and their active inclusion in society, in accordance with social welfare regulations
  • encouraging the implementation of effective measures to protect the standard of living and appropriate care for children without parents, children without adequate parental care, children with developmental disabilities, children and youth with behavioral disorders, addicted children and youth, children and adult victims of violence, large families, families of modest financial means, the unemployed, people with impaired health, people with disabilities, the elderly, disabled people from the Homeland War, family members of disabled people, those killed and missing in the Homeland War, family members of Croatian defenders who died in the Homeland War, the homeless and other groups of citizens who are threatened with social exclusion, cooperation with social welfare institutions, educational, health and other institutions, and citizens' associations in the local community.

The first session of the Social Council will be held in the first half of July.
