Second year graduate nursing students University North visited the Latica Association, which brings together young people with intellectual disabilities. The Association is currently raising funds to purchase a house in order to launch a social service of organized housing, which is much needed by some of its members. Aware of the importance of this initiative, the students raised the amount of 520 euros and thus contributed to the achievement of this noble goal. Many members of the Association are elderly and face the challenge of future accommodation because their parents will no longer be able to take care of them. In order to ensure a safe home and support for these people, the Latica Association is making great efforts to secure additional real estate. With the help of the beneficiaries' parents, they have already taken out a loan for their first house, but due to the great need - since the Association has about 80 beneficiaries - they need additional organized housing. Despite rejections from various sides, the Association continues to appeal for help from the community to ensure safe and dignified accommodation for its members. With this act, the students supported not only the Latica Association but also the idea of solidarity and shared responsibility for those who need help the most. We invite others to get involved and support this valuable initiative, because every help brings us one step closer to realizing the dream of a safer life for the members of the Latica Association.
