THREE-YEAR PROGRAM FOR THE PERIOD 2017 TO 2020 Ministry of Demography, Family, Youth and Social Policy recognized and funded our program called “GIVE US SUPPORT” which began on June 1, 2016 and the priority is the prevention of institutionalization and increasing the social inclusion of beneficiaries through activities that contribute to the prevention of institutionalization of persons with disabilities and a higher quality of life for persons with disabilities. We will increase the quality of the service through a series of activities that we have divided into occupational activities (cooking school, gardening, creative workshops, ceramics workshops) and improving communication (cultural activities, self-advocacy workshops, music and dance workshops, mobile team). Activities are carried out 4 hours a day - five days a week. The program manager is Valentina Krušec, mag.praesc.educ. who coordinates the work of the performers and beneficiaries and monitors the course of program implementation. Activities are carried out by the performer Josipa Rasinec (self-advocacy, gardening, creative workshops, cooking school), Kristina Borovac as the performer of the activities (creative workshops, cooking school, gardening, mobile team), Ceramic workshops - a workshop in nature, once a year they will make ceramic objects, external collaborator/performer Dragutin Ciglar, Music and dance workshops that will be carried out during the winter months once a week - external collaborator/performer Marko Tesla, cultural activities: Members of the Association will participate in various events (Podravina motifs, Renaissance festival, Koprivnica City Days, Christmas fair, Easter fair) organized by Josipa Rasinec and Kristina Borovac. Sports competitions, excursions, gatherings with related associations that will take place according to the plan and program for 2017. Organized by Josipa Rasinec and Kristina Borovac. Gardening – Performer Josipa Rasinec and Kristina Borovac and the Mobile Team – once a week, members of the association will visit members who are unable to attend workshops due to difficulties – performed by Kristina Borovac. Josipa Rasinec and Kristina Borovac are also employees of the Association thanks to this program. The program will also be monitored by Tamara Bukvić, a psychologist who will carry out the professional part of the assessments on a voluntary basis. This program will directly involve 29 people with intellectual disabilities over the age of 21, 50 or so parents and 10 volunteers. The Koprivnica Social Welfare Center is a partner in this program, which provides us with guidelines in the implementation and execution of activities that accompany the program, which is of great importance. The Koprivnica Folklore Ensemble will organize music and dance workshops in its premises, and the Ješkovo Art Center will provide us with a space where ceramic workshops will be held.
With this program “GIVE US SUPPORT” Through monitoring of users and individual assessment, and the success of individual workshops, guidelines will be created for the Association's further activities. At the final conference, we will inform the local community about the implemented program and the significance this program had on the parents of people with intellectual disabilities and on the people with intellectual disabilities themselves.
By introducing innovative services, we strive to increase the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities and are a significant factor in the field of local and regional self-government.
